Audition Information:

Schedule your audition/interview for your chance to be selected for one of Elmira College's Theatre Scholarships in Performance or Production.

Auditions and interviews will be held in 15 minute time slots in the Buechner Room in the Campus Center.

Performance oriented students are asked to prepare two contrasting monologues, each lasting 45-90 seconds. For example, performers may choose one comedic and one dramatic monologue, or one classical and one contemporary monologue.

Those interested in Musical Theatre should prepare either two contrasting song selections of about 1 minute each; or one song and one contrasting monologue, not to exceed 3 minutes total. Performers must provide their own accompaniment track. Elmira College will provide a speaker.

Production oriented students will conduct a short interview/conversation with Theatre faculty and should supply a letter of interest detailing their experience, career goals and why they want to major in theatre technical and/or production work. As an additional option, applicants can supply their resumes or other supporting work samples.

If you are unsure of the direction you would like to take in your theatre career or would like to incorporate both performance and production into your career (i.e., directing), your time slot can involve both an audition and an interview/conversation with our Theatre faculty
